Coy R. Kelso, age 92, went to his heavenly home with the Lord on April 25, 2024. Born on October 28, 1931, in Boswell, Oklahoma, Coy was the son of Robert C. Kelso and Mary Elizabeth La-Hue. After High School, he enlisted in the United States Army at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. During his time in the military, he fought in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1952. Coy was a devoted family man and a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He had 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren and he adored them all. He was godly, humble, and extremely generous. We will remember him most for being so kind and loving, his funny sense of humor, love of sports, and his contagious smile.
In his free time, Coy loved football, bowling, country music, softball, dancing, grilling, and fishing. He lived a long, amazing life, playing softball in his 70’s and dancing every weekend well into his 80’s. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved watching and cheering his favorite team play on TV. He also loved watching episodes of “The Three Stooges” with his grandchildren.
Coy is survived by his wife, Maria; daughters Denean Rae Warren and husband David, Donna Jean Wood; son, Bryce Stephen Ligeti and wife Kim; grandchildren, Shawn O'Brien Wood, Kimberly Michelle Warren, Dimitri Vito Ligeti, Alexander Desire Ligeti; great-grandchildren, twins Laiklynn Rae Swartz and Kashlynn Sandi Swartz; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
