Mr. Bedford worked hard providing for his family as an over the road truck driver for Stokely Van Camp for 33 years. He met his wife, Katherine, when they were teenagers at a Dallas skating rink and they married March 15, 1952. They were married for 58 years. He also loved fishing, boating, skiing, and camping with his family.
Mr. Bedford resided in Grand Prairie for over 50 years before moving to the country in Venus, Texas. He lived in Venus the remainder of his life, where he enjoyed mowing the acreage, tending to his goats, sitting on his front porch, simply being out of the city.
Mr. Bedford is survived by his children; Peggy Carter, husband Bud, Beverly Driskill, husband, Michael, and his son, Darrell Ray Bedford, Jr. (deceased) and his surviving spouse, Elizabeth. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Christie McMahan, husband, Jay, Eddy Bernard, wife, Cassie, Candice Fincher, spouse, Bobby, Stephanie Bernard, spouse, Ryan, and Cody Glasgow; and great grandchildren; Hannah McMahan, Bailey Olsen, Cameron Fincher, Ashten McMahan, Aubrey McMahan, Kennedy True, Korbin Bernard and Jameson Bernard.
