David Joseph Rand

David Joseph Rand, 68, of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away on Sunday, May 12th, 2024. He was born June 23rd, 1955, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, son of Patrice and Donald Rand. He attended Aquinas High School before graduating from the University of Wisconsin in Madison in 1977 with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish. He participated in ROTC and was commissioned an officer in the United States Army. David served honorably in both the US and Korea. There he met and married his wife, Young Leh. David was a veteran letter carrier and worked for the United States Postal Service for 38 years (from 1986 to 2024). He enjoyed traveling, plane spotting, and was an avid mailer.

David is survived by his wife Young Leh, his son, Donald, and daughter, Donna; five siblings: Jude Rand, Michael (Ann) Rand, Peggy (Tom) Edgerton, Daniel (Nancy) Rand, Patrice (BJ) Rand-Azarvand. David was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kathryn (Rand) Jack.

A Mass of Christian Burial for David will be held Wednesday, May 29th at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 2910 Corn Valley Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.

Immediately following the service there will be a private ceremony for the family at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
