

David was the beloved son of the late Cecil Haskell Sparkman and Dorothy Gladys Sparkman.
He served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, achieving the rank of sergeant. His service to his country was a source of pride for David and his family.
After his military service, David dedicated his career to public service. He worked for the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, the Texas State Comptroller's Office, and the Illinois Department of Revenue. Throughout his professional life, David was known for his integrity, dedication, and commitment to his work.
David was a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his sons, Sean Sparkman and Alex Sparkman, and his cherished grandchildren, George Sparkman, Ellen Sparkman, Taylor Sparkman, and Oliver Sparkman. David’s love for his family was evident in everything he did, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength.
David's family and friends will remember him for his generosity, his unwavering support, and his gentle spirit. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. David Sparkman will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was a testament to service, love, and dedication, and he will be remembered with great affection and respect.
A a memorial service for David will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Moore Davis Funeral Home, located at 1219 N. Davis Street, Arlington, Texas 76010. A committal service will take place on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
