David served in the U.S. Army from May 1968 to May 1971. In 1974, he discovered his passion for striping parking lots. For 52 years, he considered it artwork. We will always remember him saying, "I painted that."
David met the love of his life, Carolyn, in December 1969. They married in October 1971 and had a blessed and joyful life together. They showed their family the meaning of true love and the importance of keeping God first.
David was the heart of our family. He found joy in the simplest moments and taught us that the greatest memories are made together. Family vacations, backyard shenanigans, and monthly movie nights, where he often fell asleep, are a gift we will cherish forever. Many thought of him as another dad, grandpa, and friend. He loved all unconditionally and brought joy and laughter into each of our lives.
Up to the very end, David thought of his family. When words became difficult and confused, his last prayer for his family...
"Watch over them, prepare them, and protect them."
