Delbert L. Simpson

Delbert L Simpson, age 84, of Grand Prairie, Texas passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021. Delbert Leroy Simpson was the oldest of 2 children born to Wallace Lee Simpson and Ola Mae (Cole) Simpson on August 5, 1937 in St Jo, Texas. On November 9, 1956, Delbert married the love of his life, Lois Ann Taylor. Delbert was fortunate to do a job that he enjoyed at LTV, retiring after 43 years. Upon retirement he and Lois moved to Gilmer, TX. He was member of the Church of Christ. Delbert loved spending time outdoors and tending to his garden where he was successful in growing watermelons in the East Texas soil. He also enjoyed photography, taking picture of his family. After 10 years Delbert's health and memory began to fail so they moved back to Grand Prairie. Delbert was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Delores Adams. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lois Simpson; 2 daughters, Debbie Mansheim, husband Tom and Brenda Flaherty, husband Bill; 4 grandchildren, Tiffany Koettel, Justin Fields, Kevin Mansheim and Kelsey Mansheim 3 great grandchildren, Kessen Koettel, Taylor Koettel and August Mansheim, other family and many friends, all who will miss him deeply. A graveside service for Delbert will be held 2:00 pm Monday, November 29, 2021 at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens in Grand Prairie, Texas.
