

Delbert attended his grade school and graduated in Stillwater, Minn. After leaving high school he went into the Army and served his country for 4 years. After leaving the Army he spent time in Texas. While working at Texas Instruments he met Mary Sue Kennedy. They were soon married and started their family with the birth of their 2 children. The family lived in Minnesota and Texas until 1992 when they made Texas their permanent residence.Delbert was a man of many talents. He was smart with computers, a handy man, and a wonderful cook. He thought about going to a culinary school but in his children’s mind he was already a world famous chef. Delbert was an American Legend Member and always enjoyed going to auctions. A truck driver for many years he could be very stubborn, which helped in his pursuit to give his children anything they wanted. He was a loving father, who adored his children and his dogs. His favorite dogs were Molly, Maggie and Abby Sue.He is preceded by his wife Mary Sue Kennedy Wheeler.He is survived by his children Jeff Wheeler and wife Laura, Cindy DeLeon and husband Brent; grandchildren Aiden Maurilio DeLeon, Andrew Kennedy Wheeler; brother Brad Wheeler and parents Delbert Mason Wheeler Sr. and Cecilia Wheeler.
