Dolores Cortez passed away on January 9, 2026, in Arlington, Texas. She was born on December 20, 1944, in Harlingen, Texas.
Dolores served as President of the Neighborhood Crime Watch for New Castle Estates in Grand Prairie, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Pedro Cortez.
She is survived by her daughters, Amy Cortez James and Nora Dolores Cortez Wallace; her sons-in-law, Jesse John James and Anthony Wallace; her brothers, Albino Tamayo and Joe Tamayo; and her sisters, Sally Tamayo and Carolina Tamayo Ramirez.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
