Don Harold Wammack, dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, but most of all - family man. Don was a classic cowboy, the kind westerns are written about. He was a gentleman that passed on the art and meaning of being a real man, a care-taker and lover of the outdoors. Don always put family first - the family he was so proud of, especially his boys. He loved to hunt, tell stories and recreate life through his welded horse-shoe cowboy characters and walking canes. Don was born February 8, 1927 and saddled up for his journey to Heaven surrounded by his sons on November 18, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, A. W. Wammack and Edith Culbertson Wammack; his bride of thirty-nine years, Billie Osborne Wammack; his brother, Calvin Wammack, as well as many other friends and family who have certainly celebrated his arrival at the end of his journey. He leaves behind those of us with huge holes in our hearts: sons, Mark A. Wammack and Alan W. Wammack; grandchildren, Don Paul Wammack and wife, Andrea, Clint Wammack and wife, Jana and Clayton Wammack; great grandchildren, Camden, Tanner and Sophia Wammack; his dear, sweet sister and best friend, Aileen ("Sister") Wammack Tucker; brother, Johnny Wammack; daughter-in-law, Linda Essary Wammack; step-grandchildren, Lindsey and Fabian Cariaga, Jon Essary and Dustin Essary; and step-great grandchildren, Sofie and Roman Cariaga; former daughter-in-law, Karen Wammack and daughters-by-proxy, Debbie Slade Smith and Deemie Slade Naugle, and finally - his pride and joy, Gunther, and his sister, Maggie - the best hunting dogs ever, along with many others who loved him dearly and forever - the way he loved us. He was our hero!
