I remember you always talking about Don. Your face sparkled when you mentioned him and it was known, just by the way you spoke of him, that you were soul mates and best friends. That kind of relationship is hard to find and those who do find it are truly blessed. Don is with you! Love you my friend.

Don was an amazing husband to my friend Lisa. He prepared delicious lunches for her while we worked at Daniels. He made this delish taco soup for our monthly potlucks.  I still have the recipe.  Lisa bragged on Don everytime she had a chance.

So sad to see our Poly classmates pass on. William James and Poly High rank high in my memories. Will always remember Donnie and Ronnie. We're too young to go, right? Sharon (Porter)Snow, Madison, TN.

I knew Donnie from Polytechnic High School. I'm saddened to hear of his death. I always considered him a good friend. I pray God's grace, peace and presence be with the family at this most difficult time.

In growing up together at school and church, I have many fond memories of Donnie through the years.  Our Mothers were the best of friends for many years.  My heart and prayers go out for Lisa, Amy, Ronnie and the rest of Donnie's great family.  I will not be able to attend the service on Monday but will be thinking of all of you then.

Time and distance has separated us as a family! But I hold many fond memories of Donnie and especially his parents Ewell & Mary my Aunt and Uncle!! May you feel the presence of Jesus during your time of sorrow! He will hold you close!

I loved spending the summers at Uncle Donnie and Aunt Lisa's.  They spoiled Amy and I rotten as kids.  When I got older, I started making Christmas trips to the Metroplex to visit the family.  It was always awesome to stop by and here the family history, stories, and dates.  That man was a walking trivial pursuit.  Love ya and miss you always!!

Although I didn't know Don well,the couple times I saw him,I could see & feel the love he had for Lisa & Evelyn. The last time I saw him,the three of you were at Dad's, & there was a lot of chaos going on.We were in the kitchen talking & we went to the living room to find Dad & Don stretched out in the recliners snoring away!We all had a good laugh about that one! Sending our love & prayers for you & Evelyn.

The thing I remember about my Uncle Don was that he loved you no matter where you were in life.  He never held a grudge. He was incredibly smart and handsome.  I will miss him like crazy!  Say hello to my family in heaven.  Love you Uncle Don.

There is no way I can only choose one memory.  From taking me to the Ranger game as a kid, summers  in the pool after mowing, my first trip to Vegas :)  helping me do body work on my first truck, invaluable business lessons in negotiation, making me the coolest kid in the dorm because I had full size video games in my room, and most important being the role model I needed, he continues to shape who I am today.  No one I've ever met displayed the generosity to others that Uncle Don did.

I remember your posts on Facebook as you and Don toured Washington DC to be able to spend time with Evelyn at her internship.  You looked like you were both enjoying that so much.  Hang on to those fun memories.

Dear Lisa and Evelyn, I know your sorrows are filing you hearts right now. I pray your pain will lesson as time passes and you will remember the good times and the love you shared. Blessing to both.

I knew Don Lambert through working with his wife Lisa at David Daniels Elementary.  Each day Lisa would have an awesome lunch prepared.  I remember her beaming as she gleefully told me how her sweet husband would make lunch for her everyday.  His action inspired me as I thought to myself, "that is exactly the type of husband I would like to be."  Thank you Don for setting an example of what it means to be a loving husband.  My prayers for you and your family.  God bless you.

Dear Lisa and Evelyn, 

Where to begin, as I was introduced into the warm, loving Lambert family so many years ago. With his sister, Linda Gayle, I attempted to "work" in his accounting office. Quite clearly I had no training nor ability for this kind of work, but he patiently tried to teach me a few basics. Finally after messing up the books a few too many times, he laughingly said, "why don't you just answer the phone." 
Always a smile on his face, we teased each other about my inability to sort all that out. Finally he bought a sandwich shop and let me make sandwiches! 
He was so proud and happy to have you as his wife and after Evelyn was born, I thought his chest would burst with pride.
So with fond memories Donnie, I will remember you as the kind and generous brother of my best friend.  Marie Graham

I met Lisa about 17 years ago when we both started to give teaching a try; our second career.  I had the pleasure of knowing Don through her.  I knew that he loved her dearly and it was returned ten fold.  That type of love, compassion, and commitment is a rare jewel.  She would sit down with her lunch and all the teachers would oooh and awwwe over her lunch.  Don made and packed Lisa's lunch everyday.  Every once and awhile Lisa would open up her lunch and just start to cackle. She would say, "I guess we need to go to the store."  Those were the days Don decided to get a little creative with her meal. Don may you rest in peace; you'll be missed tremendously.

I have so many fond memories of Uncle Don. One of which shows his heart. He was always helping others. When his sister, Linda Gayle was near death, you both opened your home to her and truly cared for her in every sense of the word. He had such a servant heart. He always made me feel welcome. I've heard many more stories over the years of how he has helped family and friends. What a blessing to have known him.

With deepest sympathy Lisa,We are praying for you to stay strong , remember the good times you had together. We didn't know Don that well but with you being our niece we will miss him and the smiles he put on your face.     Love You  Harold and Carol Dillery and family.

I have sweet memories of time spent with Don and Lisa about 20 years ago at Freetown Rd Church of Christ.  My husband and I knew of a family in need, a single mother with 2 growing boys.  We told our Bible Class about them and asked if anyone wanted to join us providing Christmas.  I can still see the smile on Don's face when he gave us his offering.  His generosity was overwhelming!  It made a huge difference to this family.  A few months ago, I saw the mom and one of those boys is now a doctor.  She is so proud.  She reminded me of that life-changing Christmas.  I thought of Don.  He was his happiest serving others quietly.  I loved how he adored Lisa and can hear their laughter.  Our family loved sweet Evelyn and how kind and welcoming the Lambert's were to our daughter Chelsea.  He will live in the hearts of many.

My two favorite memory of my dad illustrates the love he had for me and the wisdom he shared with me during his life. The first was when I was really little, probably around 5 or so, when I heard my dad coming home I would run toward him to greet him at the door, and he would pick me up and hug me. I always heard that he loved it when I greeted him at the door because it made him feel special. My other favorite memory of my dad was when he shared my wisdom "the point of life is not to be happy all the time, its so unachievable to be happy ALL the time. The point of life is to not be depressed all the time." I miss him already, but his memory, love, and wisdom will forever be in my heart.

I met Mr Don while working with Mrs Lambert at David Daniels Elementary in Grand Prairie Tx. He would come up, read to the kids in the class and would always greet you with a smile. I would always run into him in the class, while I was sneaking chocolates out of Mrs Lamberts candy bowl. Mrs Lambert, my family loves you and we're praying for you and Evelyn.
