Doris F. Quarles went to be with her Lord October 12, 2013. She was born September 13, 1920 in Wills Point, TX to Jimmie and Minnie Sanders.Doris was a loving house wife, mother and grandmother who loved to work in her garden. She would plant flowers according to the season, but loved her roses the most. Aside from flowers she grew tomato and pepper plants. From the garden to the kitchen she was always putting her heart into everything she did. Especially when it came to her corn bread which could be argued that it’s the best in Texas. She enjoyed fishing and watching CNBC, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars and she was crazy about the Dallas Cowboys. At 93 she was very active, driving her own car, taking care of her house. Doris enjoyed going to Wal-Mart, she would just walk around for hours. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 60 years and taught Sunday school for many years. Doris may have been 93 years old, but her memory was as sharp as it was early on in life, she never forgot anything. On September 2, 1939, just before her 19th birthday she married Gedie Hill Quarles. They were married for 63 years. She is survived by her grandchildren Tammy Bridges, Cindy Bridges, Chad Bridges and wife Sherrie; great-grandchildren Trevor and Taylor Bridges.
