Sweet Dor,
We miss you tremendously.  You left a hole in our hearts, but left us with wonderful memories.  I know you've reconnected with your family and many friends that went before you.  Thank you for being a wonderful friend to mother, Mary Smith, and to Tanner & me after mother passed.  We love & miss you,but know you are in a far better place where you no longer have the worries you did here on earth.  Until we meet again. XO

You never get over losing your mother. Doris was a great teacher, a loving mother and grandmother, and added so much charm to her stay at her care residence. She will long be remembered.

I am sorry to learn of Doris' passing and knew her as a mentor while teaching with her in Arlington ISD at Gunn Junior High. She was a helpful, reliable long time friend to me.

Doris was one of my favorite people in the world… she had the biggest heart for anyone and everyone… she will truly be missed… I love you Doris… you were the bright light that kept me going in a dark time in my life… no words can ever begin to explain what you meant to me and my family…

Doris seemed much younger than she was. She loved her residence in Grand Prairie and always posted pictures of all the goings on there. I know her residence will miss her.
She was so tech savvy much more than anyone I know her age.

Miss Doris watched me work my way up from housekeeper to Activities Director through Atria/Morada and encouraged me the whole way. Her loving demeanor and infectious kindness will always be remembered. Rest easy Miss Doris. You will be greatly missed.

They're all together in heaven now.  I'm sure they were there to greet her as she entered the Pearly gates of Heaven.

Doris asked if she could have her picture made on my motorcycle to send to her brother, Bob.  She loved him so much.

I've known Doris since kindergarten. Growing up with Amanda we spent many nights at her house. There's so many memories I probably couldn't name them all but the ones that stand out are going to Colorado and house sitting in flowermound. Even as an adult we kept in touch on social media and she was always so kind to me.

My condolences to you and your family. 

Mrs. Simmons was a wonderful teacher and student council sponsor. I was fortunate to travel to ASU with her and Mrs. Gilmore during a student council summer camp. Listening to the stories between Mrs. Simmons and Mrs. Gilmore was a blessing. 

Thankful for her and how she poured into her students.

My deepest condolences to Mrs Simmons’ family. She was loved and respected by so many people during her lifetime. I had the pleasure of having her as my Algebra teacher at Gunn Jr High. Our paths then crossed again later in life ,when she became my patient at HCA hospital. It was there,where I was able to thank her for all she had taught me, that I was able to use as an adult ,in nursing. We came full circle and remained friends after that. I will miss  her sweet posts, of all  the fun and adventures she had with her family and friends. She was definately a light of the world. RIP Mrs Simmons❤️🙏🩷

She was a kind and loving woman. I had the chance to take care of her at Atria senior living in Grand Prairie some years back. She always cared and gave out so much love to the staff. She will be missed by many. I send my condolences to her family and prayers . Rest in Heaven.

My condolences to the family.  Mrs. Doris was so sweet and kind.  I would visit back when it was called Horizon Bay now currently Morada with my grandson David and we would have such a good time while there.  Mrs. Doris always took the time to talk to us.  David and I started visiting when he was about 10 months old, and he is now 14 years old, so we have known Mrs. Doris for a long time.  We used to talk on the phone at times just to see how each other was doing or just to say hi.  I would sometimes visit during lunch time.  She is going to be missed so much around there.  We are all going to miss that warm, welcoming smile that greeted us.  Christmas seemed to be your favorite time of year.  Hugs and love from Maybell. David Q, and family.

Mrs. Simmons, you have been a special part of my life since 1985 at Gunn Jr. High.  You made math so easy to understand and you made sure we all got it.  You led by example and showed us all the importance of simply being kind and respectful to one another.  You showed us that we had value and thus made us valuable.  To maintain that connection as an adult and to have you show that same kindness and compassion for my sons made my life more valuable to me.  Many times, as an adult, you told me to call you by your first name but I just couldn't do it.  Your value in my life taught me that you always deserved the respect of being, "Mrs. Simmons".  You are missed dearly by me, my sons, my family, and the rest of the world that were fortunate enough to cross paths with you!  God bless, rest in peace, and please continue to lookout for us down here!
