Douglas Dean Frederking, (Doug) went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, in Arlington, TX. Doug was 67, formerly from Salina, KS. He was a proud graduate of Kansas State University where he graduated as an Electrical Engineer. He relocated to Ft. Worth, TX and went to work at General Dynamics, now Lockheed. Doug worked in Avionics related Programs for Bell-Textron and L-3 Systems in Arlington as well. His second career became his passion for working with families to help them get debt free and financially independent by retirement with Primerica.
Doug was the 2nd of four sons to his predeceased parents, Del and Marilyn Frederking and is survived by his two younger brothers, Daniel (Dana) and Tim (Kim) who reside in Salina. He had an older brother, Greg who is predeceased, who resided in AK. Doug is survived by his devoted wife, Karen, and his two sons, Nickolas (Marie) and Nathaniel.
Doug loved water sports and enjoyed his boat; taking it to Eagle Mountain or Joe Pool Lake to waterski or knee board. He was also a great snow skier and loved going to Durango, CO to “hit the slopes”. He enjoyed RV camping and loved travelling across the country. His favorite place of all was Tortola, BVI where he and Karen spent their 2 week honeymoon and 2 week first anniversary, scuba diving all around the Caribbean. Doug and Karen celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary September 22nd.
In Lieu of floral arrangements, the family would prefer plants or seeds that will be kept alive for a long term vs. cut flowers. In this way, we can keep your sentiments of him alive.
Doug will rest at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, TX.
