Duane Canada Gonzales

“Kooks” was born on September 11, 1991 in Iloilo Iloilo City, Iloilo Philippines to parents Alvin and Helen Gonzales. He studied at UTPA with the intention of obtaining a double major degree in biology and chemistry. Some of his hobbies included: being a walking Wikipedia, singing, meditating, tea and coffee connoisseur, learning, reading, playing violin and piano, studying and picking up linguistics, could pick out the weirdest movies.

Duane is survived by his parents, Alvin and Helen Gonzales, of The Philippines; his sister, Lorraine Nicole Gonzales, and his two-unofficial/official brothers, Edgar and Jonathan Momplaisir.

Funeral Service: 12:30 p.m., Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Prairie, TX. Graveside is scheduled for tomorrow at approx.. 3:30 PM, at the Keene Cemetery with a reception to follow. Pastor Joe Gresham will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Duane’s life. The family would like to thank everyone for their condolences, thoughts, and prayers of comfort and strength. We are happy to know that Duane touched the lives of many as evidence by the various texts, facebook posts, calls, messages and everyone who came to the services and visitations. Duane truly sought out the very best in everyone and everything, sometimes frustratingly so. Duane loved his friends and family deeply and truly was the glue that held us together. We want everyone to remember his loving soul, his beautiful/perfect teeth and smile, and the way he could comfort and light up any room that he was in. We love and miss you, Duane. We’ll see you in the morning.
