January 20, 1949 – September 7, 2025
Elias Marco Elias passed away peacefully late Sunday evening, September 7, 2025, at his home in Arlington, Texas, surrounded by his beloved wife and children at his side, at the age of 76.
Elias was born on January 20, 1949, to Marco Elias Georgy and Maria Kyriacou, in Cairo, Egypt. He lived a life marked by resilience, hard work, and a deep devotion to his family and faith. He proudly served in the Egyptian military before going on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture. He later worked at a cosmetic factory in Egypt before immigrating to the United States in 1996 to live in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he worked in a printing company. He kept his family as priority and sacrificed much by choosing to leave all that he had known behind, and travel to build a new life with humility and determination. He later relocated with his wife to Texas.
Seventeen years ago, Elias suffered a life-changing stroke. What could have been a moment that silenced his joy instead became a testimony of strength, endurance, and faith. Though his body was limited, his spirit never was. He faced each day with courage, leaning on God’s grace, and receiving the faithful care of his beloved wife, Salwa, who stood by him with unwavering love and advocacy. Together, they showed their children and grandchildren what true devotion, perseverance, and sacrificial love looks like.
Even in the midst of his challenges, Elias remained a source of humor, light, and strength. He never let his circumstances take away his ability to smile, laugh, or encourage those around him. He cherished time with his family above all else, celebrating their milestones, offering them wisdom, and delighting in the gift of becoming a grandfather. His children grew up watching not only a hard working father in his early years of strength, but also a man who fought bravely to keep showing up with his tenderness and accepting love to them — teaching by example what it means to endure with faith and dignity. He loved soccer matches, action movies and eating good meals. Even during the final days, his spirit was so strong for his family, never complaining about his earthly cross of disease which he endured.
He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Salwa Sadek; a proud father to Mary Sorial and her husband Peter Sorial, Joseph Elias and his wife Jessica Elias, and Monica Jefferies and her husband Jesse Jefferies. He is grandfather to his adoring grandchildren: Karas, Kyria, Demiana, and Marina Sorial; and Caroline, and Liam Jefferies.
He is survived by his five cherished siblings: Abdalla Elias, Emilia Elias and her husband Adel Makary, Maher Elias and his wife Amany Marcos, Georgette Elias and her husband Nabil Dawood, and Nelly Gourgi and her husband Nashaat Attara. His beloved nieces and nephews: Dinah Esquivel, Carmen Adel-Hollands, Ayman Elias, Nader Dawood, Nayer Dawood, Ramy Attara, Haidy Attara-Hamouda, Gina Garnier and Jacky Attara. He will also be remembered with love by a wide circle of extended family and friends.
Elias was a faithful member of the Coptic Orthodox Church, and his life reflected his deep spiritual roots, service and love of community. His testimony lives on not just in his words, but in the way he endured suffering with patience, embraced his family with joy, and trusted God until his final breath.
Elias’s legacy is one of love, laughter, perseverance, and faith. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and cherished him.
