

Emma LaVonne McTee passed away January 15, 2015. She was born in Dallas, Texas on August 30, 1933 to Charlie and Alma Lee Parker. Emma grew up in Grand Prairie, Texas. In 1951 she graduated from Grand Prairie High School as a proud Gopher. She was a sweet woman who loved to help others. She would babysit children from less fortunate families. If she wasn’t helping people she enjoyed making them laugh. She had a jolly personality and could talk to anyone. While her children were little they would visit Turner Falls every year. They even ventured to Colorado Springs from time to time.Emma liked to sing, watch football and the cheerleaders, work cross word puzzles and have fun. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her fried chicken, pinto beans and cornbread. She was a member of the Soap Opera Digest Club and a member of Lakeview Baptist Church for 30 years. A wonderful wife and mother, Emma excelled as a grandmother. She enjoyed going to Six Flags with the family and being playful with them. She enjoyed it so much, everyone called her grandma. Emma is preceded in death by her husband Leon Artie McTee Jr. and brother Charles Parker. Survived by her children Paul McTee and wife Patti, Charles McTee and wife Carol, Laurie Butler and her husband Mark; grandchildren Brian McTee and his wife Marie, Benjamin Cruz, Rachel Rotella and her husband Andrew, Gabriel McTee; great-granddaughter Emalee Rotella; sisters Juanell Harris, Rassalee Nanney and her husband Tommy, Gwen Harrelson and her husband Dee.
