Ernesto Olivarez

Ernesto lived a life marked by devotion, hard work, and a deep love for the people and places that shaped him. He carried himself with the steady strength of a man who knew the value of family, service, and perseverance. Those who knew him will remember him as adventurous, loving, and wise, qualities that were reflected in the way he met life’s challenges and in the way he cared for others. His presence brought comfort and steadiness to those around him, and his memory will remain a source of strength for his loved ones.

He was a proud United States Army veteran, and his service reflected the same sense of duty and commitment that guided him throughout his life. After his military service, Ernesto devoted more than 30 years of his working life to plastics manufacturing for Igloo, where he was respected for his dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic. He took pride in doing his job well and in providing for his family through years of faithful labor. His long career stood as a testament to his character and to the quiet determination with which he approached every responsibility.

Ernesto found joy in the simple and meaningful pleasures of life. He loved fishing, hunting, watching westerns on television, and spending time outdoors. These interests brought him peace and happiness, and they were part of the rhythm of the life he enjoyed. Whether he was sharing time in nature or settling in to watch a favorite western, he appreciated the traditions and pastimes that connected him to the world around him. His love of the outdoors reflected his spirit of adventure and his appreciation for the beauty of everyday moments.

Family was central to Ernesto’s life, and he leaves behind many who will cherish his memory. He is survived by his former wife, Guadalupe Olivarez; his sons, Ernesto Olivarez Jr. and Edward Olivarez; his grandchildren, John Ernest Martinez, Devon Martinez, and Jeremiah Swearingen; his great-grandchild, Lily Sastatia; and his brothers and sisters, Robert Olivarez, San Juanita Moyorga, and Maricela Olivarez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilberto and Elvira Olivarez; his brother, Gilberto Olivarez Jr.; his sister, Gloria Diana Olivarez; and his daughters, Veronica Gonzales and Vanessa Swearingen.

Those who loved Ernesto will remember his wisdom, his warmth, and the enduring love he showed to his family. He lived with a quiet dignity and a generous heart, and his life left an imprint on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he will be deeply missed, his family and friends will hold close the many memories he created and the example he set through his actions and his spirit.

Ernesto “BiBi” Olivarez will be remembered with love and respect for the life he lived, the work he completed, and the family he treasured. His legacy will continue in the hearts of those who knew him, and his memory will be cherished always.

A funeral service will take place at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home Beltline Road, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052, US, on September 24, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

A committal service will follow at Southland Memorial Park, 1100 SW 3rd St, Grand Prairie, TX 75051, US, on September 24, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
