Faye Viola Stovall, born Fairy Viola Fort, 103, passed away November 17, 2018. She was born March 24, 1915 in Truscott, Knox County, Texas to parents, Hugh Frank Fort and Mary Ada Fort. She was the youngest of 11 children.
Faye is a member of the daughters of the American Revolution. Her ancestors fought with George Washington during the American Revolution. Her paternal grandfather was a Capt. in the Civil War and later settled in Hamilton county where Fairy, Texas was named for her great Aunt Fair Fort. Her maternal grandfather, Radford Berry Fulcher was a Texas Ranger and rode with Sul Ross during the capture of Quana Parker. Sul Ross was later, governor of Texas. Mr. Fulcher was believed to have been the oldest living native Texan at his death.
Mrs. Stovall moved to Dallas, Texas where she met and married Frank Allumbaugh in 1938. She later married Chet Stovall in Grand Prairie, Texas.
She was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church from the time of its inception when it began in a house on the 1600 block of Willow St. in the early 1950’s.
Faye was a member of several organizations including: American Legion Auxiliary, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Order of Eastern Star and National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survived by: son, Charles Allumbaugh and daughter-in-law, Doris Allumbaugh of Midlothian, TX; grandson, Chuck Allumbaugh and wife Shawnda of Merkel, Texas; great grandkids, Logan Allumbaugh of Buffalo Gap, Texas, Lance Allumbaugh of Abilene, Texas, Allison Allumbaugh and husband, Hayden Byers of Merkel, Texas; great-great grandson, Bentley Charles Byers; great granddaughter, Savana Grace Allumbaugh of Merkle, Texas; great granddaughter, Macy Garcia and husband Kelton of Snyder, Texas; great-great grandkids Kip and Kamden; granddaughter, Dana McMorris of Abilene, Texas; great grandson, J.D. Kaetzel and wife Samantha; great-great grandkids, Colton and Austin Kaetzel of Midlothian, Texas; grandsons, Derek Kaetzel of Abilene, Texas and Zachery McMorris of Abilene, Texas; 8 great grandkids and 5 great-great grandkids.
