

Franklin Glenn Gerron, 74, passed away May 6, 2014. He was born May 9, 1939 in McKinney, TX to Virgil and Mozel Gerron. Glenn grew up in Celina, TX where he picked cotton. Before he could graduate he enrolled in the United States Air Force where he served 4 years and received his GED. After being honorably discharged he began working in cabinetry before changing over to security.In 1958 he settled down in Grand Prairie, TX and began his family. He loved spending time with his children. Whether it was going camping, taking them to the ball games or playing golf as they got older. Glenn could be so generous he would give you the shirt off his back. He had a good wit about him, dry humor, and very strong feelings toward junk food. His favorite snack other than anything chocolate was a hot dog with peanut butter and syrup.Glenn was independent to the end, always protective of his children and grandchildren, and very resilient. When he would sit back and relax by watching sport it was the Texas Rangers, pro-golfer Jack Nicolas or his grandchildren’s teams. Glenn is preceded in death by his father Virgil Eber Gerron, mother Mozel Dean Jones and brother James Gerron.He is survived by his children Mike Gerron and wife Kristi, Robert Gerron and wife Diana, Ron Gerron and wife Karren, Micki Anderson and husband Jerry; grandchildren Brandon Gerron, Ashley Gerron, Joel Gerron, C.J. Gerron, Matthew Gerron, Colton Anderson, Emma Anderson, Brandy Martinez; great-grandchildren Kayden Jones, Savannah Sams, K-Lea Martinez; sister Faye Miller, brothers Dennis Gerron, Joe Gerron and numerous nieces and nephews.
