Gene "Mack" McClure, 80, passed away November 27, 2012. He was born July 18, 1932 in Dallas, TX. Gene went into the U.S. Army at the age of 15 and at the age of 16 went to Korea and served during the Korean War. Gene was a Grand Prairie Police officer for 14 years and reached the rank of Sargeant. He left the Grand Prairie Police Department and became an officer with the Decatur Sheriff's Department. Survivors: Wife of 57 years, Lois McClure; Son, Gene McClure and wife Terrie; Daughter, Darlene Ashmore and husband Darrel; Granddaughters, Christi, Summer, Lacy. Grandson, Shawn; Brother, Mack McClure, Sister, Joyce Russell; Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends.
