Gloria Ofelia Aldape

Gloria O. Aldape, of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 75. Gloria was born on August 20, 1951, in Tamazula de Gordiano, Jalisco, Mexico. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy was her family. On June 13, 1968, Gloria married her beloved husband, Jose Carlos Aldape Rodriguez. Together, they shared 58 years of marriage, building a beautiful family and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Gloria found great joy and purpose in her work as a hairstylist. After attending cosmetology school, she opened her own business, the Los Angeles Beauty Salon in Grand Prairie, TX, where she spent 15 years before retiring in 2008. She named her business after the city where she would start a new life and family. She truly enjoyed her career and the many people she met along the way. A woman of faith, Gloria was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and Guadalupanos. She loved and was proud to live in Grand Prairie. Gloria also loved to pray and bless her family and the people around her. She enjoyed supporting and watching her grandchildren play sports and participate in extracurricular activities, singing, dancing, caring for her plants, listening to mariachi and she loved shopping. Her loving heart and gentle spirit will forever be remembered.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Jose Carlos Aldape; her children, Alex Aldape and his wife Ana Aldape, Norma Zuniga, Nancy Aldape, Carla Munoz and her husband Joey Munoz; her grandchildren, Jose T. Zuniga, Michael Aldape, Daniel Aldape, Gilbert “Ninis” Longoria III, Andrea Longoria, Natalie Castillo, Abigail Munoz, and Emily Munoz; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Allison Zuniga, Christian Zuniga, Emma Romero, Jade Zuniga, Steven Moreno, Michael Aldape, Elise W. Romero, Camila Aldape, Liam A. Moreno, Levi A. Moreno, Christian Aldape, and Mateo A. Aldape. She is also survived by her siblings, Jose I. Fermin, Hugo Fermin, Teresa Fermin, Patricia Fermin, and Jose de Jesus Fermin, along with extended family and loved ones, including Marcela Fermin, Alma Fermin, Francisco Aguillon, Mike Soto, San Juana Fermin, Jose Luis Valdez, and Vanessa Fermin Flores.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnulfo Fermin and Josefina Valencia; her siblings, Mario Fermin and Susi Aguillon; and her beloved grandson, Christian M. Zuniga.

Gloria leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, love, and family that will live on through every generation. Mom, your presence will forever be missed, but your love will always remain in our hearts. You leave behind far more than memories; you leave a legacy of love for a family that was shaped by your presence, strengthened by your sacrifices, and blessed to have called you Mom, Grandma, Wife, Sister, and Friend. Mom, your hands may no longer hold ours, but your love will forever hold our family together. You were loved beyond words, you will be missed beyond measure, and you will remain in our hearts for all the days of our lives. We love you and will carry you with us forever. Rest peacefully, Mom.

A Funeral Service will be held at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050, US, on September 8, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm, followed by Visitation at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050, US, on September 8, 2026, from 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Committal Service will be held at Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, TX 75220, US, on September 9, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am.
