Gloria Kay Conner

Gloria Kay Berryhill Conner was born in Dallas, Texas on July 23, 1953, to Ben and Mamie Berryhill. She passed away on March 23, 2025, at the age of 71.

Gloria grew up in Grand Prairie, Texas where she attended First Baptist Church almost her entire life. She graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1971 and then attended East Texas State University. Gloria and Mike married in January 1974 before she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1975. Gloria then received certification to teach from the University of North Texas. She worked at Six Flags Over Texas for many years but spent 35 years teaching Physical Education in Grand Prairie Independent School District. After retirement, she enjoyed going to musicals, attending Grand Prairie Retired Teachers Association meetings, doing crossword puzzles, having monthly lunches with lifelong friends, and most importantly, being Grams.

Some of her favorite things to do as Grams were Wacky Wednesdays, weekly transportation to different activities, attending all the different performances, making all the favorite foods/snacks, going to the movies, riding all the rides at Disney World, shopping trips, and supporting the girls at all the Field Days.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Mamie Berryhill; sister, Glenda Berryhill; and brother-in-law, Eddie Dingman. She is survived by her husband, Mike Conner; daughter Christi Maier (Andy Maier); granddaughters Avery and Audrey; sister, Joan Dingman; sister-in-law, Marsha Vanatta; and nieces and nephews, Tamara, Chad (Brian), and Adrienne.

A memorial service for Gloria will be held on April 1st, 2025, at 10:30 AM at First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie, 950 Mayfield Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Grand Prairie Food and Clothing Co-Op.
