I met Bro Butcher in 1973 while stationed in Heilbronn, Germany. I was blessed to be able to attend the Baptist Church there where Bro Butcher would hold services for the American Soldiers and their families. When my wife and children came to Germany we became good friends with Martha and Robert who married in 1974. We still remain friends and they all will always have a special place in our hearts and lives..Bro Butcher you will be sadly missed , but never forgotten. We will see you again in Heaven

My Opa!! He would hide behind the front door and surprise me every time I came to visit! I always knew he was there, but it made walking into his house SO exciting haha!! He always made sure us grandkids had plenty of candy corn, walked us to the park, and pushed us on the swing. He cuddled up with us at night and we shot “alligators” from our perch with an old phone. I remember him standing nearby watching us play and he always seemed to be “in the moment”. He paid attention and laughed with us. I really had a wonderful childhood with my Oma and Opa. They always made me feel loved and wanted and for that I will miss Opa deeply. Thank you, Jesus, that I will see Opa in Heaven one day 💙.

He was a very kind, giving, religious man. I looked up to him and feel he was my mentor in a lot of ways. I could only hope in life to be half the man he was. I'm glad I got to see him a few days before he passed. He will be missed. Love, Tiny and Mary

So sorry dad had to be sick his last years of life. Him and I spent lots of time day and night when he stayed at my house while mom was recovering from her hip surgery. We talked about lots of thing. We loved sitting on the front porch watching the deer. Golf cart rides on our 10 ac was fun and down the street looking at the neighbors animals. The greatgrands and our newest addition was a treat to him. Emersyn was the first great great granddaughter. He had two great great grandsons too. I’ll sure miss him.

One of my most favorite pictures of Oma and Opa making Sunday Lunch for us all when we came to visit. Ty took it while they were, very seriously, discussing what all was going to go into the salad.

I have had the pleasure of knowing this sweet man through my friendship with his amazing daughter ,Martha, and his lovely wife Mrs. Butcher. I worked for years with both ladies and have come to know and respect this Christian man. The world was a much better place with him in it.
