On October 16, 2023, Hope Coy passed away peacefully, with family at her side. She was 80 years old. Hope was born in Millsap, Texas on September 23, 1943, to Domingo Guajardo and Maria Rodriguez Guajardo.
Roots ran deep for the Guajardo family name around the community of Millsap. A lifelong Texas native, Hope was well-loved in her community. Hope was an accomplished lifelong learner, graduating from Tarrant County College, and Dallas Baptist University with Associates and Bachelor of Business degrees. God took Hope’s path to work for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service in management and bookkeeping and later to serve her community as a bi-lingual tax consultant for H&R Block.
Somewhere along the line, Hope fell into the arms of the love of her life on a blind date. Raul Coy stole Hope’s heart on that first date and kept it secured for the rest of her years. They created a family, memories, and a God-led life.
Hope was the mother of three devoted children. Despite coming from her large family Hope always made time for everyone. In such a short time she made you feel such love. She always provided support and love for her family. She and her husband Raul worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their kids. She would proudly boast about the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren and all her extended friends and family.
Hope was preceded in death by parents Domingo and Maria Guajardo, brother John Guajardo, brother Joseph Guajardo, brother Jesse Guajardo, sister Elisa Guajardo, and sister Mary Radford. Hope is survived by brother Alfredo Guajardo (Aurora), brother Thomas Guajardo, sister Amalia Argumaniz (Elias), sister Elisa Gonzales (Luciano), sister Virginia Teague (Glen), sister Aurora Serrano, and sister Helen Fultz (Wayne). Hope was predeceased by her devoted husband Raul Coy.
She is survived by her three children, Annette Henderson (Guy Casey), Thomas Loftis (Suzanna), and Christopher Loftis, 6 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
The Family invites you to join them for a Requiem Funeral Mass at her home Church. The service will be Monday, October 30th at 11am Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 610 NE 17th Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050.
