So sorry to hear of Montie's passing. We corresponded for a while as I was working on our family trees and participated in the Gatlin-Harris family site until they decommissioned it. May his memory be for a blessing.

My condolences to the family of my Anderson family line cousin known to us as, Montie Gatlin. I remember in my early years in the 1950's visiting his parents and siblings. Then much later as grown and retired older cousins, we re-connected over common family history interest. We shared data and even participated in a Gatlin-Harris web site. I'm happy to have known him, both in my early years, and later in our twilight ones. Montie exemplified much of what we both inherited from our common Anderson/Hawkins sides. Blessings at this time for the family in their loss but part of that inheritance just mentioned is a faith that will carry all of us through.

Montie was my L.T. for many years. Great mentor and inspiration to me as well as many other young officers. Great man! We all have lost a lot.

My father Wylie Hall (Wylie Coyote) worked with Montie. I remember Dad telling stories of all the wild calls they got. Dad always thought a lot of him. We lost a good one. May he rest in peace.

I remember the man as Officer Gatlin when I was in high school. His demeanor and professionalism demanded respect. He came to the Dairy Queen often when I worked there as a sophomore and junior. Friendly, fair and when I think of the GPPD, he is the man that comes to mind. May God Bless his family. Thank you Lt. Gatlin for representing yourself, Grand Prairie and the police department well.

I have many memories of Montie. He was a wonderful man, father, neighbor and police officer. He lived two houses down from me on Tompkins and he never minded that me and my brothers spent so much time at his house. He treated us so special and always welcomed us. We were so blessed to have him in our lives growing up.
