

Anitta Jane Haney Hall was born on March 23, 1939, in Ryan, Oklahoma, to Ed and Vivian Haney. In 1941, the family moved to Grand Prairie where her father was employed building airplanes at North American. She attended Idlewild and Grand Prairie schools and was in the class of 1957. During her school years, Jane was active in the GPHS Choir.
In February of 1956, Jane married Truett Hall and their marriage lasted until Truett’s death in 2018. Two sons were born to this union, Joe and David. They made their home in Grand Prairie and were active in their church. First at Bowles Memorial, then Inglewood, and finally at First Baptist. During their time at Bowles and Inglewood, Jane was active in teaching children’s Sunday School and singing in the choir. She was always driving the boys and their friends to ballgames and school events.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Vivian Haney; her husband of sixty-two years, Truett, her son, David, and a special member of the family by choice, Derek Kevin Mitchell.
Survivors include her son, Joe and wife, Robbie, of Van, her daughter-in-law, Nescel, of Cedar Hill; her grandchildren, Danielle Smith, Marissa Arledge and Derek Edward Hall; great-grandchildren, Brendan Husfeld, Piper Smith, Ty Brogdon, Gage Smith, Ansley Smith, Sydney Arledge and Allie Arledge; and six great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, many cousins and a host of friends.
Visitation will be on Monday, March 23, (her 87th birthday!) from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth, Grand Prairie, Texas.
Graveside service will be on Tuesday, March 24, at Cumby Cemetery in Cumby, Texas. Pallbearers will be Buck Parker, Chris Smith, Brendan Husfeld, Ty Brogdon, Brian Arledge, Richard Waits and Danny Smith.
