Jerry Ann Criswell, age 79, of Grand Prairie, TX, passed peacefully from her earthly home on September 16th after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Jerry was born on December 31, 1938 in the Itawamba County community of Dorsey, Mississippi to Bunyon & Myrtle Reed. After moving to Memphis, Tennessee she married the love of her life, Jimmy E Criswell on April 27, 1957. She had a very positive impact on many young children as a pre-school teacher in Memphis, Tennessee, New Orleans, Louisiana and Grand Prairie, Texas as well as numerous Churches of Christ in these towns. Upon her retirement, she and Jim enjoyed traveling, camping, and spending time with family and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her husband of 51 years, Jimmy E Criswell Sr. She is survived by sons Jimmy E Criswell Jr. of Grand Prairie, and daughter in law Sharon Starkey, of Duncanville, Texas, Joe and Natalie Criswell of Grand Prairie, Texas, Jon and Melinda Criswell of Grand Prairie, Texas. Grandsons Jimmy III and Cassandra Criswell of Midlothian, Texas, Heath and Anna Criswell of Wylie, Texas. Granddaughter Heidi and Tim Stone of Midlothian, Texas, Paige Criswell of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Michaela and Tom Cotter of Grand Prairie, Texas, Delaney Criswell of Grand Prairie, Texas. Great-grandchildren T.C., Colton, Weston, & Jewell Stone, Kierstin & Jett Criswell & Nolan & C.J. Criswell.
Jerry was a faithful member of the Freetown Road Church of Christ in Grand Prairie, Tx.
