Jerry is also survived by six great grandchildren: Mikayla Kuhn, Jon Warren Royster, Grady Royster, Kessler Royster, Carson Kuhn and Annie Royster. He is also survived by his brother, Richard Jones of Abilene.

After graduating from McMurry University with a BBA degree, Jerry attended both Naval Officers’ Candidate School and Engineering School. Subsequently, he served as engineering officer on an ocean-going minesweeper and served on the Commodore’s Service Staff. After five years of active service, he was honorably discharged as a lieutenant in 1968.

Jerry retired in 1997 after 29 years in the aerospace industry, working for LTV/Vought/Northrop Grumman Corporation. He held positions within the business to include corporate chair of the Savings Bond and United Way Programs, MLRS proposal team, Quality Department, Facilities Department and retired as Manager of Corporate Budget Administration for Northrop Grumman Corporation.

Jerry’s volunteer work included Lion’s Club, where he was awarded “Lion of the Year” and served as chairperson of several club committees. He also served as a board member of Vought Heritage Credit Union, a member of the Parks Board of Grand Prairie, Texas and held various posts in the United Methodist Church, including delegate to annual conferences and chairperson of the administrative board and finance committees.

Jerry became interested in the GBS/CIDP Foundation following Annette’s diagnosis with GBS in 1991. From 2003-2016, served as Treasurer and member of the Board of Directors of the GBS/CIDP Foundation. In September 2016, Jerry received the “Pillar of Support” award (along with his wife) at the annual GBS/CIDP Foundation International symposium in San Antonio, Texas.

Jerry left a huge impact on so many. He never met a stranger and will be missed by all. He was a steady strength and presence in our family even until the very end. We are grieving the loss but find comfort knowing that he will spend eternity with our Creator. We also know he’s now a Gate Greeter and already knows everyone in Heaven by name.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.beanmasseyburge.com for the Jones family.
