

Joe Almaguer, of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on December 30, 2021. He was born on January 18, 1950 in Nixon, Texas to Manuel Almaguer and Pauline Hernandez Almaguer. He graduated from Crozier Technical High School in 1967. He retired from the United States Post Office after 17+ years of service. He enjoyed his retirement and was able to spend more time with his loving wife, children, and grandchildren. His favorite things to do during his free time were work on his old cars, catch up with old friends, be a handy man around the house and go to the casino and horse races. He will always be remembered as a loving husband and an amazing, strong father.
Joe had a way with people and was known for his candidness and tough love. He was a father figure to many family friends. He lived for his grandchildren and made many memories with them teaching them life lessons that they will cherish forever. He will be missed tremendously.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Pauline Almaguer; siblings, Alfredo Almaguer, Amelia Almaguer, Fabio Almaguer, & Angelito Almaguer; granddaughter, Carina Almaguer-Herrera.
Joe is survived by his wife, Gilda; daughters, Alaisha, Adelfa, Regina, Bianca, & Celena Almaguer; sons, Alexis (Raquel), Orlando (Karla), Joseph (Kyla) Almaguer; step-son, Ruben (Perla) Vera; brothers, Manuel Almaguer, Daniel (Dolores) Almaguer, Richard Almaguer, Tony Almaguer, Leo Almaguer; Sisters, Carmen (Amado) Davila, Francisca (Javier) Davila, Eva Valero, and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
