

Service: 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Grand Prairie. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home.

Joe was a member and a deacon of First Baptist Church in Grand Prairie. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired from General Motors as a security guard.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ima Dell Carpenter, and sons, Dennis and Dale Carpenter.
He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him
Survivors: He is survived by wife, Barbara Carpenter of Arlington; daughter, Linda Jaeger (George) of Laneville; stepdaughter, Claudia Lowery (Rick) of Waskom; stepson, Mark Barlow of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Tim Elkins (Christy) of McKinney, Jeremy Elkins (Sherry) of Flower Mound, Ricky Lowery(Danielle) of Waskom, Robin Falcon (Dale) of Irving, Rachel Herrmann (Steve)of Fate, Cameron Carpenter of Frisco; great-grandchildren, Todd Elkins, Emma Elkins, Jane Elkins, Chloe Herrmann, Grant Herrmann, Rickey Lowery, Emma Lowery, Drew Falcon, Dean Falcon.
