Dear Cousin John,
Thinking and praying for you and yours. Although I live far away and have not seen any of you for years I still hurt because of your passing so early in life. Your mother and father I loved very much and remember you when you were a small child.  My prayers are for you who is in Heaven. Your Cousin, Larry Miele, son of Julia Tanner White.

I had the pleasure of working with John at BancTec for many years.  He was always helpful, professional and friendly.  I will miss him a great deal.

I am so sorry for your loss. I served with John aboard USS Gato from 1979-1983.  I was happy to reconnect with him through Facebook last year.  He was a good man and a fine friend.

Very sorry to hear of JT's death. I left Lundy/Recognition/BanTec at the end of '95 but will always remember John was the "go to guy" to get P1 parts out to the field in a bind, day or night.

My deepest sympathy to John's family and friends. I worked with John at Lundy/Recognition in Charlotte. I don't think I ever saw him in a bad mood, he was one of those people who could lift you up regardless of what was going wrong at the time. I am so very sad to hear of his passing.

Thinking back on childhood memories the Tanners always come to mind with fondness and laughter.  John has some sayings that were all his own.  Never forgotten, Always remembered and always loved.  My heart goes out to the family with prayer.

My wife & I knew John as a co-worker and friend for the last 35 years.  Our prayers for your family & loved ones that the Lord will ease the pain of their broken hearts.  RIP JT, you will truly be missed.

RIP Johnny,  We were lifelong friends who grew up next door to one another.  We've been separated through the years by distance but never separated by our lifelong friendship!   I'll always cherish the fun times and fond memories we had as kids growing up on Ashford Drive in Charlotte NC.  I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to the family, extended family and friends of John Thomas Tanner III.  May The Peace of God Be With You.  Our Loss is Heaven's Gain. For all of us that have known and shared times with John it's impossible to put all our thoughts into one simple paragraph.  I know that each of you will take a moment to reflect on your individual time with John.  I've known John for 30+ years as a friend and coworker back to our early Lundy days and through our journeys with Recognition and BancTec.  Our military brotherhood created a special bond.  Being a Marine, John would often boast and tease me, that the only good Marine was a Sub-Marine-R. May you always find calm seas Sailor.  And may you find joy and comfort with the Lord my friend.  You will be sorely missed in my heart.  Semper Fi and R.I.P.

John was my friend and co-worker for many years.  I will miss him very much.

John, you will be greatly missed by many. I met John after REI's merger with Lundy and developed a great business relationship him, while serving as EIC and District Service Manager with Banctec. We spent a lot of time at night and day on the phone and in person, coordinating parts availability. He was always professional and courteous with all.

John was a very loving, funny and compassionate man.  He cared very much for everyone he met.  Cared about his family very deeply.  John will be missed and is loved very much.

John is my uncle and we are all devastated & in shock at his unexpected passing. He was a wonderful, fun loving man who loved his family more than anything. He will forever live in our thoughts and memories. We love you so very much, fly high with the angles, uncle. Our loss is heavens gain.

John wa s a wonderful person, I worked with him at BancTec for many years. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of his family. May Our Lord grant them Peace and Comfort.

I was a shipmate and friend of John (JT), we kept in touch through the occasional phone calls and later FB.  JT was an extraordinary man and friend I will always remember him as a happy and deeply caring person.  The good do die young.

Uncle John, we are shocked and completely devastated over your passing. It just doesn't seem real that you are no longer with us. We will miss your quirky sense of humor and those late night phone calls but most of all we will just miss you. May you forever rest in peace. We will miss and love you forever.
