On the evening of April 6th, 2021 at 9:14 pm, Jose Herrera Jr. of Killeen Texas died at the age of 57. Joe is preceded in death by his father Jose Herrera and survived by his mother Maria Elva Herrera. He was born in Weslaco, Texas in 1963. Joe grew up helping his parents, picking vegetables in the fields, learning about music as he played the tuba and becoming the first Mexican American drum major at Grand Prairie High School. Our father has always been a one-of-a-kind man. He was a magician, a clown, the first person to wear a "jack in the box" costume for the famous fast-food chain, a local business owner, politician, and advocate. Not to mention his long life of being a Tejano DJ and Radio Host. Dad has always been the life of the party who made everyone smile everywhere he goes.
Joe is survived by his fiancée Janis, his two daughters Stephanie and Lauren, as well as his two grandchildren Elisabeth and Luca. Joe will be greatly missed by his family, his friends, and his fans.
We will be hosting a public memorial service at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home at 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie TX, Monday, April 12, 2021.
