Joseph O. Norris Sr., 82, of Grand Prairie, passed away peacefully at home with his wife of 47 years, Grace, by his bedside on Saturday, October 3rd, 2020. He was born in 1938 in Oklahoma City, OK to Joseph and Mary Ellen Norris, and had a sister, Nancy.

Joe was an U.S Army veteran and an expert marksman. He was also a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a charter member of The Woods United Methodist Church. He spent over 30 years working as the manager over transportation for Vought Aircraft Industries.

When Joe was not golfing, hunting, camping or fishing, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His fish fry cookouts were legendary. He was also passionate about Oklahoma Sooner Football and had season tickets for over 15 years. Perhaps his favorite activity was enjoying time with his wife, four grandchildren, and grand-dogs.

Joe is survived by his wife, Grace Norris, daughter Joy Kutz and her husband Dr. Joe Walter Kutz, and four of their six children Sydney, Audrey, Grant and Callie. Twins, Claire and Chloe Kutz passed away at childbirth in February 2000. He is also survived by his son Joseph “Joey” O.Norris, Jr. and his wife Angela Norris.

Joe a.k.a. Pop Pop will be greatly missed but his memories and words of wisdom will live on in his children and grandchildren for many years to come.

My dearest Grace. Sending heartfelt condolences to you and all your family on the loss of your beloved Joe. He was a very fortunate man to have found you, Grace, and his good fortune continued when your children and then grandchildren were born. I didn't know Joe except through you, but I loved him completely for loving you.

Joe,
You were a very SPECIAL guy!
We always looked forward to seeing you at Sunday Services. My Joe got a kick out of your comments about his Washington Redskins. He especially enjoyed those times y'all spent frying fish at Inglewood UMC with Verl. You'll be missed BIG TIME.
Love Catherine & Joe

Joe,
I will never forget the first time I met you. You had the largest smile and arms wide open for a big bear hug. It was if you were saying, "Finally!". The whole family welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like family. Thank you for sharing your son and family with me. I promise I will forever take loving care of Joey. I love you, Dad. You are going to be missed but definitely live on in my heart.

Sorry to hear about Joe's passing. He was my Supervisor in Shipping He is one of the finest Supervisor I ever had In the 32 years I worked at Vought. I'm from Arkansas and we had some Spirted conversations about the Hogs-Sooners thru the years. My thoughts and prayers are with the family!

We will always remember Joe for his dry wit and his cordial, friendly greetings at our church. Diehard Oklahoma Sooner through and through, he got special fun buy poking vocal jabs at me (Jim) and my Longhorn affiliation, allowing me to retaliate in kind as the current situation suggested. Joe was an example of that rare personality who leaves you feeling good as you walk away. Our love and best thoughts are with you, Grace, and your family, in your loss,
