

Joy grew up in the DFW area and attended Grand Prairie High School and Nimitz High School.
In 1980 she married Gary Grubbs and moved to Grand Prairie in 1985 to raise their two children. Joy was an out-going stay at home mom who was the main disciplinarian. She was a fun, bubbly, unselfish woman who was a worry wart and cared more about others than herself. Joy was a devout Christian with a strong faith. She was an amazing cook who made everything from scratch in her own kitchen. The most memorable dishes are her homemade spaghetti, lasagna and meatloaf. She enjoyed dogs, fishing, and skiing. Joy loved visiting Las Vegas, Shreveport and Oklahoma where she spent time playing her favorite slot machines.
She is preceded in death by her parents Rayfel Cook and Emma Davis; sisters Beverly Grubbs and Reba Joyce Cook.
She is survived by her husband Gary Grubbs; children Crystal Lebredo and husband Eric, Gary Grubbs Jr. and fiancée Cathy; grandchildren Greg Grubbs, Zach Grubbs, Trey Lebredo and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
