Joyce Ann Monsey

Joyce Ann Monsey was born on Sunday, February 8, 1948, at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas to Fannie Mae (Sellers) Monsey and J.R. Monsey. Joyce passed away at the age of 77 on Thursday, November 6, 2025, in Fort Worth at Baylor All Saints Hospital. She was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer.

Joyce lived in Grand Prairie her entire life and attended school in Grand Prairie. She graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1966. She worked for many years as a bartender and bookkeeper as well as manager for The Stone Fox in Arlington and then later she went to work for the Texas Department of Rehabilitation where she retired in 2005.

Joyce was a very generous and good hearted person and would give you the shirt off her back. She loved to do Word Searches and Jigsaw puzzles. She loved Dr Pepper and always kept quite a stock of it on hand at her house in Avion Village in Grand Prairie.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Lester Ray Monsey and grandparents and her nephew Jeff. She is survived by her brother James Mac Monsey and his wife Nancy of Salem, Oregon. She is also survived by 4 nieces and 1 nephew and many great nieces and nephews that loved her as much as she loved them.

She will be buried in Rule Cemetery in Rule, Texas near her maternal grandparents.
