

Kenneth A. Dolberry, entered into life January 10, 1949 in Lubbock, TX to Allen Kenneth Dolberry and Maudie Maye Dolberry. Kenneth went to be with his Lord on the evening of July 22, 2013 in Arlington, TX.
If you knew Kenneth, you knew he was a proud Army Veteran. He was an avid member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Texas Vietnam Veterans, a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America #1013, as well as the American Legion. Kenneth, a SFC US Army Retired Seargent 1st Class, had a long and honorable 20 year career from July 1968 to January 1989. During this time he received many Military Awards: Bronze Star w/1stOLC, Joint Service Commendation, Army Commendation w/ 2ndOLC, Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Ribbon, NCO Development w/#3, Vietnam Service W60 Bar, Vietnam Campaign w/6 Stars, Presidential Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/Palm, Expert-Pistol, Bronze Medal – Rifle(German Army), Sharpshooter-Rifle. While stationed overseas he and Ann traveled to Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, France, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, and Italy. As a member of Men’s Promise Keeper’s Kenneth attended and walked on the million man march held in D.C. It was no doubt he loved his country.
Kenneth received his BS degree in 1991 and his Masters in Elementary Education in 1994 both from Wayland Baptist University. Jobs he held included the U.S Postal Service in Level land, TX, as well as a teacher at the Christian School in Lubbock and Duncanville. His last government job, from where he retired was from the Grand Prairie Bureau of Prisons.
Kenneth also known as “Papa” was defiantly a family man he loved his kids and adored his grandchildren. He’ll be remembered by them by his great sense of humor; he could always make them laugh with his jokes. Kenneth always pleased them by taking them wherever they wished, most of the time that consisted of many visits to the park.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Allen Kenneth and Maudie Dolberry; and brother Jack Dolberry. Those left to cherish Kenneth’s memory is his wife Anna Dolberry, whom he married on his birthday in 1983. Children: Allen and wife Kim Dolberry of Mesa, AZ; Ray and wife Heather Dolberry of Mesa, AZ; Barbara and husband Matt Drager of Mesa, AZ; Gary and wife Dellana Beesinger of Grand Prairie, TX; Jay and wife Rachael Beesinger of Grand Prairie, TX; Fifteen Grandchildren; and three Great Grandchildren; Brothers: John and wife Sharon Kocurek of Post, TX; Steve and wife Terri Dolberry of Casa Grande, AZ; Jim Dolberry of Stephenville, TX; and Kevin and wife Teresa Dolberry of Arlington, TX; Sisters: Carol Woodworth of Adkins, TX; Rhonda Spoon of Stephenville, TX; Sue and husband Dale Hallmark of Dumas, TX; Deb Slone of Stephenville, TX; Jan and husband Tim Lane of Bacliff, TX; and Sheri and husband Rob Smith of Austin, TX. His in-laws, to who was family, Allen and Wanda Stidger, Patsy Stidger and Lalah Weir. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie, Children’s Ministry in his name.
