Larry was born to the parentage of Mr. Herman R. Goatley and Mrs. Ruby Humphrey-Goatley of Louisville, Kentucky. Larry accepted Christ as his Savior and united with Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship. Larry served in the United States Air Force in the Vietnam War and received his honorable discharge in 1967.
Larry met and married the love of his life, Cheryl L. Morgan-Goatley.
Larry was a proud father, grandfather, caring brother, father-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend. Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby; father Herman; son Larry; two sisters, Nessa, Paula, Janace, and one brother, Richard.
Larry leaves to honor his memory his loving wife of twenty-five years, Cheryl M. Goatley, daughter, Glenda Smith {Michael), son, Craig, and grandson Jeremy Smith; one sister, Naomi Tompkins; two brothers: Douglas M. Goatley (Mary), and CorselI K. Goatley (Teresa}, and a host of other relatives and friends
