

Lorraine Madore Morrisroe, April 30, 1924 – May 10, 2017, passed away peacefully at her home. Lorraine was born, Lorraine Constance Madore, one of 14 children to Mattie and Abel Madore in Van Burren, Maine. She grew up on a potato farm speaking French. When Lorraine was 18, she moved to Connecticut with her sister Pat to aid in the war effort where she and her sister learned English. She met Joseph Bachman and married in 1944 in Connecticut while Joseph was serving in the Coast Guard. Through the war years and beyond she gave birth to seven children and moved to Syracuse, New York where she was stay at home Mom. In 1971, they relocated to Grand Prairie, Texas and Joseph passed away shortly after. Lorraine entered the work force, working as a bank Teller at Airport Bank when DFW Airport was first opened. She met Jim Morrisroe, a widower with three children. Lorraine married Jim August 1, 1975. Lorraine and Jim formed Mayflower Services, a local cartage trucking company in Grand Prairie employing over 100 employees and operating 45 vehicles. After selling the company in 1987 Jim and Lorraine began to travel all over the world and enjoy their children, grandchildren and great children. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters. She is survived by her Husband, Jim Morrisroe, Children, Priscilla Aylesworth, Barbara Averitt, Roger Bachman, Randy Bachman, Rory Bachman, Ralph Bachman, Rick Bachman, Therese M Coons, James Morrisroe, and Kathleen Morrisroe. Sisters Marie Gene Haden, Patricia Fradette, and Florence Octigan. 16 Grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. Arrangements are as follows:Visitation: Sunday May 14, 2017, 3 PM-6 PM and Rosary at 6 PM at Bean Massey Burge 2951 South Beltline Road Grand Prairie, TX 75052. Funeral Mass and Reception: Monday May 15, 2017 at 10 AM at the Sisters of the Holy Family 1814 Egyptian Way Grand Prairie, TX 75050.
