Louis graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree from North Texas University. He was drafted into the Navy in 1944 and was honorably discharged after 13 months. He loved to play slot machines; he and Tommie would visit Louisiana, Las Vegas and Choctaw in Oklahoma. He ate at Theo’s almost every day and always watched Fox News, the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. Louis enjoyed fishing, hunting and working with his hands. He would rather build it than buy it and never called a repair man for something he knew he could fix himself; which was everything. In his ninety-five years on earth, Louis became a part of many lives, communities and hearts. His sharp wit always came with a kind smile and ready laughter, and his friendship was freely given to anyone he met. He had the heart of a servant and did something for someone else every day without trying. Louis was a member of First Christian Church of Grand Prairie for sixty-four years where he served as an Elder and the property chairman. He served proudly as a master mason for Sam R. Hamilton Lodge number 1031. Louis was preceded in death by his first wife of 58 years, Ina Beth Moore Thompson, brother, Marvin Thompson and his son Ronald L. Thompson, He is survived by his second wife, Tommie Thompson, son, Kevin F. Thompson, daughters-in-law, Linda and Andrea Thompson, grandchildren, Shannon Thompson and Jim Harper, great grandchildren, Caitlin and Mason Harper and many nieces and nephews.
