A "Celebration of Life" will be held in Lucy's honor sometime next year in 2021, pending the Covid-19 situation at that time. Thank you all for your love, condolences, and understanding.

Lucy Hernandez Negahban was a shooting star who landed in Dallas, TX on October 30, 1955. Being named by her parents for the title character in “I Love Lucy” (the most popular TV show when she was born) was a stroke of good luck, for to know Lucy was to love Lucy.

While there are many positive words that can describe Lucy, the one that probably sums her up most succinctly is: dazzling. She was an energetic force, a hurricane of positive energy, and her compassionate and giving heart enchanted everyone she knew. Being around Lucy meant being showered with love, encouragement, and kindness. She left crumbs of helpfulness everywhere she went and was always ready to pitch in and give some part of herself so that another’s struggle might be easier.

Lucy was a talented, gentle, and beautiful woman known for her bright sense of humor, fabulous cooking, storytelling and sense of style which she expressed through designing and decorating (and there would ABSOLUTELY be crystals and sparkles on anything she decorated, even at Halloween!). She was full of creativity and vision with a designer’s eye towards luxury. Lucy loved retro fashion jewelry and was renowned among her friends and co-workers for wearing “something shiny” every day. Her choice of sparkling jewelry was just a warning to those around her that they would be dazzled with joy and brilliance when interacting with her.

Lucy’s career was dominated by over 30 years of service at the Black-Eyed Pea on Cedar Springs in Dallas. She took pride in her work, in delivering stellar service, and was a joy to her coworkers and customers, many of whom became very dear friends. Lucy made friends everywhere she went, even in the mundane tasks of daily life, and could capture anyone with her easy going and cheerful attitude. She had a servant’s heart and kept a spirit of tenderness and a joyful attitude while caring for both her parents when they became ill. When they passed away, she found fulfillment in helping others. She was an encouragement to so many people around her - to know Lucy was to be uplifted in spirit.

Lucy’s sparkle left this world on September 27th, 2020. She is now reunited with her parents Herman & Petra Hernandez. Those who will miss her the most are: her husband Set Negahban of Duncanville, TX; her daughter Marie Annette Tidwell and Marie’s husband Brian, of Arlington, TX; her siblings: Yolanda Munguia and her husband Santos of Avalon, TX; Herman Hernandez Jr. and his wife Paula of St. Pete Beach, FL; Arthur Fraga of Duncanville, TX; Joanne Webb and her husband Doug of Dallas, TX; Rebecca Allison and her husband Andy of Longview, TX; and lifelong friend Frank Luera Jr. of Dallas, TX. Additionally, she leaves behind many nieces & nephews who she regularly lavished with affection. Her laughter, love, and light will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have experienced it.

Sweet Lucy,
From the first day of work,(2002) you were a inspiration ,and a coach. I laugh at the times you would make me throw out my gum, make sure i carried a tray as i was running around the restaurant. ( It makes me smile)
You were always a caregiver with a lot of patients. Your smile would light up a room, and the jokes and stories you would tell made me laugh! Good energy and a Friend who cares is just a few words to describe Lucy.
May you rest in peace and fly high sweet lady.

From the moment we moved into our home 8 years ago Lucy welcomed us with opened arms. She very quickly became family. This woman would bend over backwards for her family and us. She loved Zoey and Andrew as if they were her own grandchildren. She would protect our home and watch over our fur babies when we were gone without even asking. She brought so much light, joy, and laughter into our lives and to all the lives she touched. God blessed us with an amazing neighbor and friend! We weren’t ready for her to go but god was ready to bring this amazing angel home. Things won’t be the same around here without you and I promise to not let Zoey forget you! We are sure going to miss our Halloween queen!

My dear friend- from the first time I met you I was in amazement of your laughter, your giving heart and how you never let nothing get you down. We shared so much and they will never be forgotten. I love our moments when we watched tv and you would make me laugh through the whole show. Cooking in the kitchen and being your sidekick was something I will cherish. You taught me so much in the little time we spent together. I enjoyed your silliness, I would stand back and take pics of you with out you knowing then showed you later and you would laugh. I loved holding your hand when we walked into the stores. Lucy you became part of my heart and when you left a part of my heart went with you. I don’t know how this earth will be without you in it. Thank you for being my angel on earth. Thank you for being my friend. Thank you for telling me every night before bed you loved me. Thank you for just being you. I miss you and I will never forget you. I love you my dear friend/ sister. ❤️

Lucy was a compassionate, genuine loving person. Her hospitality was one of a kind. She loved her family, friends, and her dog Maria. She was spontaneous, funny, and Lucy never met a stranger. She preferred others above herself, and my life is better for knowing her; I am grateful to have been her friend and family member.

Lucy, you are still a gem here in our hearts
We will miss you dearly but the memories that put in our ♥️ heart will always be there. You were most beautiful person that God send to earth you didn’t know about color, race or creed. Where if you were young , old , short ,tall, limped or with illnesses. You gave your all and your whole heart to us. You always had a big heart and hugged who ever came in front of you. I will always remember the chuckles you always had right before you greeted anyone. God has taken an ANGEL but has left us with Hugh memories . We love you “Lucy “
