Lural Herman Shepherd

He was born on September 11, 1937, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Coy and Grace Shepherd.

Lural will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his intellect, quiet strength, and dedication to his family. He honorably served in the US Air Force for 5 years.

Lural was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Dorothy Shepherd, who passed away on September 25, 2019, at the age of 75. Mary was born on May 9, 1944, in Presque Isle, Maine,

and is warmly remembered for her devotion to her church, her family, and especially her grandchildren.

Lural is survived by his five children: Scott S. Shepherd, Paul T. Shepherd, Sandra K. Gunter, Stephen T. Shepherd, and David A. Shepherd; along with 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought great joy to his life.

Service Details

A viewing and burial service will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. At this time, Lural will be laid to rest alongside Mary’s ashes, reuniting them together in peace.
