Lydia Sue Smith, 102, of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away October 25, 2012.. She was born in Edgewood, Texas September 2, 1910 to Geo and Viola Smith. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Grand Prairie and retired as a bookkeeper from A & P Grocery.
Lydia was a very independent person, mowing her own lawn till the age of 95, she also loved the color Red! After her retirement Sue was very active in the Grand Prairie community seniors programs such as cooking, hosting events at the senior’s center, square- dancing, soft ball and volley ball but her passion in life was fishing (she loved to fish for crappie and black bass) and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Faye Boldt, and long time friend Joe Zeller.
She is survived by one great nephew, Harold Boldt and wife Alexandra, three great nieces; Barbara Braddy and husband Terry, Linda Boatright and husband Philip and Gail McCollum. She is also survived by numerous great great and great great great nieces and nephews and friends.
