Manley Blaine Gambill

November 7, 1925June 10, 2020

Gambill, Manley Blaine on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at age 94; beloved husband of Gloria Gambill; dear father of Nathalie and Kaj Bollmann Gambill and dear grandfather of Maja and Michael Hindrichsen Gambill and Thea and Thorbjorn Diepgen-Gambill of Denmark. Brother to the late Matthew H. Gambill of St. Louis. Manley’s parents were the late Nathan Harden and Alice (Carrico) Gambill of Iowa. Manley retired from the United States Army as a platoon Sergeant First Class in 1968. During Manley’s Army career, he earned the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; First Oak Leaf Cluster to National Defense Service Medal; Combat Infantryman Badge; Army Commendation Medal and an Air Medal. Manley attended two special schools in the service: The Military Police School and the Jungle Operations School. After Manley’s military career, he served twenty years as a bus driver for Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART). A private military committal service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas 75211. (The military committal service will be shown on Facebook - no attendance at the cemetery)
