August 9, 1960 – September 25, 2026
Maria Juana Bonilla, beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and cherished member of her family, passed away on September 25, 2026, at the age of 66.
Maria Juana was born on August 9, 1960, in Charco de la Granja, Doctor Arroyo, Nuevo León, Mexico, to the late Jose Mancilla Ramirez and Juana Martinez Perez. A woman of Catholic faith, Maria Juana carried her faith and prayers with her throughout her life. She later made her home in Grand Prairie, Texas, where she built a beautiful life centered around the people she loved most.
Maria Juana is survived by her devoted husband, Rito O. Bonilla, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories, love, challenges, and perseverance. Through the highs and lows of life, they remained together, standing by one another until the end.
Her greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother to her four sons, Jose Antonio Bonilla, Jerry Max Bonilla, Aron Arnoldo Bonilla, and Humberto Ismael Bonilla.
She is also survived by her beloved daughters-in-law Ketty Corina Acosta and Zakiya Bonilla, who were part of her family and the many memories they shared throughout the years.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to Jose Armondo Bonilla, Zoey Gene Bonilla, Jonathan Rey Bonilla, Elianna Serenity Bonilla, and Aron Alex Bonilla, and a beloved great-grandmother to Ignacio Emiliano Bonilla.
To Maria Juana, her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild were her world. Family was at the center of everything she did. She believed deeply in keeping her family united and often reminded her loved ones of the importance of gathering together, especially around the table.
She was proud to see her sons grow into good men with good hearts. Her greatest wish was for her children to live good lives, remain united, and carry the lessons she taught them into their own families.
A Life of Love, Strength, and Joy
Maria Juana was a strong and beautiful soul whose presence touched the lives of many. She had a way of making the people around her feel loved, welcomed, and connected. Her family was her greatest treasure, and the memories she created with them will be cherished for generations.
She was a woman who understood the importance of family not only in words, but through the way she lived. She encouraged her loved ones to remain close, to gather together, to share meals, laughter, stories, and life’s special moments. She believed that these simple moments were the ones that would become the memories her family carried forever.
Her love extended beyond her immediate family. She became a second mother to those who were fortunate enough to experience her love and guidance. Her kindness, advice, laughter, embraces, and presence left an enduring mark on the people whose lives she touched.
Maria Juana’s life was also marked by courage, sacrifice, perseverance, and faith. She came to the United States before many of her family members and helped open the way for those who would eventually follow. Her decision to come to this country created opportunities and a path for many of her loved ones. Her family will always remember and be grateful for the role she played in helping build a better future for generations to come.
Her love and influence will continue through every generation that follows her. The prayers she prayed over her children and grandchildren, the advice she gave, and the values she instilled in them will remain part of her lasting legacy.
Her sister beautifully described this legacy:
“Tu memoria será recordada por todas tus generaciones. Todas las enseñanzas seguirán en tus hijos y tus nietos. Tu oración para tu descendencia será como la gota; con tu oración de poder así será: ‘La gota de agua rompe la roca no por su fuerza, sino por su constancia.’”
She is also survived by her siblings: Juventino Mancilla Martinez, Nicolas Mancilla Martinez, Maria de Jesús Mancilla Martinez, Maria Isabel Mancilla Martinez, Hilaria Mancilla Martinez, Rodolfo Mancilla Martinez, José Cruz Mancilla Martinez, Eva Maria Mancilla Martinez, Salvador Mancilla Martinez, Humberto Mancilla Martinez, and Victor Mancilla Martinez.
Maria Juana was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Mancilla Ramirez and Juana Martinez Perez.
Maria Juana leaves behind more than memories. She leaves behind a family shaped by her love, her prayers, her sacrifices, her wisdom, and her unwavering belief in the importance of staying together.
Her memory will live on through her husband, her four sons, her grandchildren, her great-grandchild, her siblings, and every generation that follows.
Though she is no longer physically with us, the love she gave, the prayers she prayed, the laughter she shared, and the lessons she taught will remain forever. Her family finds comfort in knowing that after a long battle, she is no longer in pain or suffering. Her faith carried her through, and she now rests in the presence of God, completely healed and at peace.
May God grant Maria Juana eternal rest, and may perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Her love and legacy will live on in every generation she leaves behind.
