Mary Kathleen Carney (Kathy), age 75, was born on June 12, 1949, in Sioux City, Iowa, and passed away on February 4, 2025 in Arlington, TX. Kathy graduated from Ursuline Academy in Dallas in 1967 and continued her education at Texas Woman’s University (TWU) and the University of North Texas.
Kathy worked in various roles throughout her career, including at Construction Playthings, Hilton Hotel, the Dallas Intertribal Center (DIC), and St. Paul Hospital, where she retired in 2014. While working at DIC, she met the love of her life, Lance Carney. They married on December 20, 1986, and shared many wonderful years together.
After retirement, Kathy found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she loved traveling with her family. Her love and devotion to her family were the cornerstone of her life.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, George and Vletta Satterlee, and her beloved husband, Lance Carney. She is survived by her daughter Kelli and her husband Manuel Garca of Grand Prairie, TX; her stepchildren Lance Carney and wife Krista and Darren Fisher and husband James from Salamanca, NY; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Kathy’s love, kindness, and vibrant spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A visitation for Mary will be held Monday, February 17, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. A rosary will occur Monday, February 17, 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. A funeral will occur Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 12:00 PM, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. A graveside will occur Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, 3001 S Belt Line Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.
Serving as pallbearers are Chris Byrne, Greg Baken, Mark McCall, Scott Anderson, Nick Garca and Vohn Williams.
