Mary was born on October 18, 1962, in Kingsville, Texas, to Robert Ricard and Andrea Garza. She had a desire to give and care, working in the veterinary field and later earning an associate degree in nursing.
On April 27, 2002, Mary married Philip Erwin. Together, they shared 24 years of marriage and built a life filled with love, companionship, family, and many cherished memories.
Mary deeply loved her family and found happiness in the things that made a home special. She enjoyed photography, poetry, gardening, and cooking, and she had a particular fondness for classic movies. Cooking was especially meaningful to Mary, and she enjoyed the opportunity it gave her to bring comfort and enjoyment to those around her.
Animals also held a very special place in Mary's heart. She shared a particularly close bond with her Savannah cat, Cisco, and her Italian Greyhound, Maximus. They were beloved members of her family and brought her great companionship and joy.
Mary was a woman of Catholic faith whose life was marked by her love for those closest to her. She will be remembered for the affection she had for her family, the home and life she created, and the many simple moments that became treasured memories for those who knew and loved her.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, Robert Ricard, and her mother, Andrea Garza.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Philip Erwin; her siblings, Robert Ricard, John Ricard, and Michelle Ricard; and other family members and friends who will deeply miss her presence in their lives.
A Celebration of Life honoring Mary will be held Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
Mary's life cannot be measured simply by the years she lived, but by the love she gave, the memories she created, and the place she will forever hold in the hearts of those who loved her. Though deeply missed, she will always be remembered.
