Mary Lou Bolton Dillard

April 19, 1935March 18, 2014

Mary Lou Bolton Dillard defeated Alzheimer’s disease when she went to meet her Lord and Savior on March 18, 2014. Mary Lou, a native of Grand Prairie, TX was born to Luke and Ruby Bolton on April 19. 1935. She met the love of her life, Wayne Dillard in high school, and they married January 28, 1954. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.Throughout her life, Mary Lou instilled many values on her family, the importance of a loving relationship with God, a life filled with loving family and friends, supporting each other, their children and grandchildren, rarely missing a school event, a sporting match, or an award ceremony she knew the impact of these actions and the love they expressed. She had a love of books and travel which she shared with her husband, daughters, and grandchildren. Always the social butterfly Mary Lou enjoyed parties and she hosted gatherings in her home. Mary Lou loved having her family close. She accepted Christ as her personal savior and was baptized at 12, Mary Lou continued to follow the Lord's path, being very active at Matthew Road Baptist Church, with and the Preschool Academy at Westchester.Mary Lou was a life resident of Grand Prairie, TX. She was a bookkeeper by profession, worked for Xerox, Dillard Company, and Santec Industries which she retired from in 2000. The family wants to give a special thank you to Hollie Glover, for her work as Dementia Care Specialist with Alzheimer Association. She gave us a understanding of what was happening and what was to come. More than just a caregiver to us; without her wisdom, strength, emotional support, we would not have made it through the past three years. We cannot begin to express what a blessing her presence has been in our lives. We would also like to thank the nurses and aides who assisted at the extended care facility, the Isles of Watercrest in Mansfield, TX and Envoy Hospice. The compassion and dedication they demonstrated for Mary Lou and our family reminds us that our Lord is always watching out for us and that even in this difficult time angels walk among us. Pall Bearers are Petty Officer 2nd class, Justin Tettleton, Mitchell Benton, Ruben del la Torre, Joey Glover, Stan Cowling, Blake Riggle and honoree pall bearer, Hollie Glover.
