Mary Kathryn Walsh
April 19, 1925 – September 18, 2019
Mary Kathryn Walsh, known to so many as Nanny, passed away September 18, 2019. She lived a long, full, happy life and had a great impact on the lives of innumerable friends and family. Mary was born to Ralph and Lola Nash on April 19, 1925 in Sullivan, Indiana and was the oldest of three children. She grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida and later moved to New Jersey, then to Trenton, Texas and eventually to Grand Prairie, where she lived most of her life. Mary met Joe Walsh in the summer of 1942 and they married in November that same year. Early in their marriage of over 40 years, Joe and Mary were blessed with 4 daughters: Mary Jo, Judy, Patty, and Linda.
Mary was a longtime member of Inglewood Baptist Church, teaching Sunday school, as well as enjoying activities and trips with her Keenager friends. She worked as an electronic technician for E-Systems for 32 years. There was nothing Mary loved more than spending time with her family cooking, laughing, playing games, advising, and overall just being with us…and let’s not forget she was an avid Cowboys and Ranger’s fan!
Mary was a Godly woman who loved Jesus and doing for others. She touched more lives than we will ever be able to know with her generosity and time.
Mary was proceeded in death by her husband, Joe Walsh; her parents, Ralph and Lola Nash; her siblings, Bobby and Dottie; and her daughter, Linda Bailey.
She is survived by: Mary Jo (Lee ) Marsh, Judy (Jim) Wilson, Patty (Sid) Willis and her son-in-law, Jack Bailey. She had 8 grandchildren: Jamie (Mike) Rasberry, John (Angie) Wilson, Matt (Sabreana) Marsh, Michael (Katie) Marsh, Rachael (Brett) Howard, Bryan (Aaron) Bailey, Cheryl (Kyle) Clemmons, and Joey (Stephanie) Willis. She also had 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Mary always had a smile as she watched me as I grew to be a young woman at Inglewood. Then after I married and moved away she remained the constant encouraging Christian friend to my mom in her health struggles. I am grateful to have known such a kind and loving soul. May her life of service be our inspiration. Blessings to her sweet family. My deepest sympathy. Linda Bush Hand

Waking up to the smell of pies cooking & coffee as Nanny prepared for Thanksgiving Family get togethers. Always smiling and laughing as she taught us all how to cook. Especially my momma who was the only one to never cook her eggs noodles correctly!
