Matthew Jonathan Garcia

Funeral Services for Matthew Jonathan Garcia (35) of Kaufman, TX, will be 11:00a.m. Friday, December 16, 2011 at the Concord Church in Dallas with Reverend Ronald Wright to officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Seagoville. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the funeral home.

Matthew passed away Decmber 11, 2011 in Dallas. He was born to Ernest and Carol Dalton Garcia August 19, 1976 in Tulare, CA. He married Toni Johnson April 9, 2011 in Somerville. Matthew served in the U.S. Army from 1994 to 2001. He was Sgt. E5 at his discharge. Matthew received several medals and awards during his service. Matthew became a police officer in 2004, serving in the Balch Springs Police Department since 2008. He was a beloved husband and father as well as a great friend to all he met.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Toni Garcia of Kaufman, son Mark Anthony-Allan Nichols, mother Carol Garcia of Roswell, NM, brother Dalton Garcia and his wife Ursula of Kansas, sisters Robin Stock and her husband Joe of Wyoming, Kristy Daniels and her husband Ray of Prinston, and Nina Johnson of NM and 6 nieces and nephews. Matthew is preceded in death by his father Ernest Garcia.
