Monique was a loving wife, daughter, mother and educator, She graduated at the University of Texas in Arlington in May of 2002. She was an educator for 24 years, teaching Kindergarten, 3rd and 4th grade, then was selected to be a testing facilitator for two different schools for the Arlington I.S.D. Her certifications included early childhood education, elementary self-contained and English, as a second language.
Monique loved fitness, music, make-up, reading, was a foodie, who had a sweet tooth and loved to try new foods. She read 1 to 2 books a month and loved going to church, as faith was important to her, which led Mia to be involved in the church as well. She loved her friends and family, coordinating trips, get-togethers, food adventures, documenting memories and picture taking. Monique was also an organizer and planner and was someone who was never afraid to voice her opinion. Her laugh was contagious and you could hear it from a mile away. She was very supportive of colleagues, friends and family, and was proud of all of them and expressed this throughout her life.
Monique is survived by her spouse, Luis A. Rivera Jr. (54), and her daughter, Mia Laren Rivera (18); mother and father; Nick and Patricia Novello, as well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
There will be a memorial service held at the Central Bible Church at a later time.
